Learning is ART

It was Monday morning and I had a brief interview with the program manager from Startup Institute, where she presented two very simple yet intricate questions.

What I want to learn? & Who I want to learn it from?

These questions had always been in my mind but to answer them was a challenge. Could the list ever end? Where do I start? As I paced around pondering, it finally came to me…I want to learn everything from everyone, the good, the bad and the ugly.

What I want to learn?
To utilize not only knowledge but resources presented to me to make a greater change to society.
How I can communicate with individuals with various experiences to innovate new ideas and present them in such a way that captivates the audience’s attention.
To love to learn from my mistakes, and to grow through the risks I can potentially take.
To learn how to  think from not only inside of the box but also from the outside as well and combine it as one perspective.

Who do I want to learn it from?
Individuals who are inspired by Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, they innovated such ideas that truly transition people’s idea of “the want” to “the need”.  Facebook, Apple and Google continue to grow not because these founders decided to create their artwork, publish it and retire. These individuals continued to take risks and learn from their mistakes as they stay not one or two steps ahead of society but ample strides ahead to ensure that they are the change to society.
I also want to make sure I learn from individuals who had taken risks and failed.  Learning is closely related to art and although some think failure is the end of the world, I believe failure is just a reason for to start on bigger and better blank canvas.

Thanks for reading! Keeep learning!
